Chesney is 7 and has autism with severe developmental delays. He sees the world very differently than most poeple. He is very sensitive and I believe he can sense things in people that we can't. He is very intuitive and kind. He often doesn't connect with new people.
Tonight we are hosting Yang. A cyclist from China who is cycling the world. Yang found me on www.couchsurfing.org.
Chesney made a connection with Yang immediately! He held his hand and talked to him from the beginning. Yang is so amazing with the kids. Talking to them in his beginner English. He won their hearts with cake!
Chesney who usually hates having his nails clipped, sat quietly while Yang clipped his nails tonight. He was so excited that his "new best friend" had clipped his nails with his clippers from his "special bike bag!"
Acts of kindness really are the best. One act of kindness allowed my little boy to feel the love and kindness of a stranger! I love that my children are experiencing kindness and caring from people of all walks of life and all cultures. Speaking English is not a requirement!
I love our travel lifestyle!
