How We Prepare For a Trip

We go CAMPING!!! The kids haven't been camping in a tent. So we took this weekend to go camping. We didn't go far from the city but we had an amazing 2 days camping in a tent!
The first night was difficult for Chesney. He doesn't like change in his routine. We read books and sang our song like we do every night. He had a hard time falling asleep but he eventually fell asleep and did great sleeping in the tent!
The boys loved cooking hot dogs over a fire.
We spent the day on Saturday at the lake. There is a playground, spray park, beach area at the lake, boat launch (We watched people launching their boats into the lake with great excitement!), a pier to fish off and wash rooms. It's also right in the town of Wabamun so there are quaint little small town stores. We took a walk around town and had breakfast at the 52nd Street Market.
We live a pretty laid back life. I don't stress about too many things. I have a laundry basket that I have been collecting the things I think we might take to Mexico with. I'll go through it as the time comes closer. I'll do a video or two of what we're packing and what things are must haves.
Other than that there really isn't much to prepare for. I've been doing research online on the villages we will be staying in. Joining groups on Facebook for each village. I've booked apartments and hotels for our first week in Mexico!
I'm of the mindset that if we do forget something, I can always get something that will work wherever we are. Often times the thing I forgot that I was sure I couldn't live without, ends up being a non necessity in the end!
